Baker McKenzie appoints Esteban Raventós EMEA regional chair

Baker McKenzie has appointed Esteban Raventós, a member of the firm’s Global Executive Committee, as the new regional chair of Europe, Middle East and Africa (EMEA)

Esteban Raventós has held various positions of responsibility at Baker McKenzie at the local, regional and global levels. From October 2010 to January 2013 he managed Baker McKenzie’s office in Barcelona, while from 2013 to 2017 he was a member of the firm’s global Finance Committee. As a lawyer specialising in Tax Law, in 2008 he was appointed to the Management Committee of the Taxation group in EMEA and from January 2016 to 2018 he chaired the Great Estates group in the same geographical area. Finally, in 2018 he was appointed to the Executive Committee at a global level.

Esteban Raventós (pictured), who is also recognised as one of the best lawyers in his field by the major directories, has practised Law in the US and Spain and has more than 25 years of experience in Tax planning and transactions as well as Wealth Management.

Along with Esteban Raventós, two other members of the Executive Committee, Michael Santa Maria (Dallas) and Michael Wong (Taipei) have been appointed chairs of North America and the Asia Pacific, respectively. In addition, two other partners have joined the Executive Committee, Shih Yann Loo (Hong Kong and China) and Melinda Phelan (Dallas). This year’s annual meeting of partners was held virtually.

The new position that Esteban Raventós will hold is considered the firm’s most senior position considering the utmost relevance of EMEA as a strategic region.
