Baker McKenzie promotes two M&A partners

Baker McKenzie has appointed Juanjo Corral and Luis Fuster as new Commercial partners after a long and successful career with the firm in Spain, effective July 1, out of 85 promotions worldwide

Juanjo and Luis´ appointment as new M&A partners reinforces the firm´s commitment with the Transactional advice.

In total, the firm is promoting 85 new partners worldwide, with Tax, Litigation and Arbitration and M&A being the areas with most new partners. Adding the new hirings, the firm has added 153 new partners.

Juanjo Corral (pictured left), Madrid office Commercial new partner, is specialized in Corporate Law, M&A and Private Equity. He regularly provides advice on M&A transactions as well as Corporate and Commercial matters to Spanish and foreign companies, with a clearly international component, and holds the position of secretary or deputy secretary of several companies´ Board of Directors. He has participated and led significant transactions in various sectors, such as Energy, Hotels, Industry, Commercial distribution, Technology, Agri-food and Catering.

He joined the Firm in 2015, after having previously developed his career for almost 10 years in two renowned national firms. Juanjo has a degree in Law and Economics and a Master’s degree in Legal Consultancy for Companies from the Universidad Carlos III de Madrid and a Postgraduate degree in Company Valuation from the Barcelona School of Management (Universidad Pompeu Fabra). He publishes articles and regularly collaborates in magazines and press and collaborates as a regular teacher in the Master´s degree of Access to Law at the University Carlos III of Madrid.

Luis Fuster (pictured right) is also a new Madrid office Commercial and M&A partner. He has extensive experience in Commercial law, and in particular in M&A, Joint Venture and Private Equity transactions. Luis provides legal advice to leading national and international clients of different sectors, such as Energy, Automotive, Industrial, Retail, Technology/Telecommunications or Banking, having participated in several relevant transactions in these sectors during the last years.

Luis holds a law degree in Law from the Universidad Cardenal Herrera CEU in Valencia and an LL.M (Master of Laws) from IE, where he was awarded an exchange programme at the National University of Singapore (2009). After working previously for almost 5 years in a Spanish law firm, Luis Fuster joined Baker McKenzie Madrid office Commercial department in 2014. He also collaborates as a lecturer in the Master´s degree of International Law at the Universidad Carlos III de Madrid.
