Women in a Legal World analyses takeover bids

Madrid recently hosted a prominent panel discussion on “Takeover Bids: Key Strategic and Financing Issues”, organized by the Banking & Finance Commission of Women in a Legal World (WLW). The event took place at Pérez-Llorca’s Auditorium and brought together leading experts from the financial and legal sectors to discuss critical aspects of public takeover bids (OPAs).

The roundtable, moderated by Elena Osuna (WLW), featured an esteemed panel of experts, including Teresa Méndez (Pérez-Llorca), Ignacio Ruiz-Cámara (A&O Shearman), Verónica Guerrikabeitia (Santander Corporate & Investment Banking), and Alberto Aguilar (Natixis Corporate & Investment Banking). Each speaker shared valuable insights from their respective areas of expertise, fostering an enriching discussion among attendees.

The session explored key strategic and operational factors for successful takeover bids, including critical considerations when launching one. Experts analyzed market trends, legal structuring challenges, and classic financing models, highlighting complexities in negotiation. Additionally, the discussion addressed coordination between M&A processes and financing, identifying potential execution challenges.
