WFW advises Industrial Gas on 50% stake acquisition in BPower

Watson Farley & Williams has advised Industrial Gas BPower on the acquisition of a 50% stake in Biogás Power Generation (BPower), in one of the first and largest biomethane transactions in Spain.

The deal creates a strategic partnership between Industrial Gas and BPower to develop, build and operate a portfolio of biomethane projects, as the sector experiences rapid growth in Spain. BPower currently has 17 biomethane projects under development, with an estimated production capacity of 60–120 GWh per year.

Industrial Gas is a renewable energy investment firm focused on biogas and biomethane. BPower specialises in the development of biogas plants producing biomethane from livestock and agricultural waste, wastewater sludge and municipal waste.
