WCA organizes online congress to fight COVID-19
The World Compliance Association will hold, on April 21, its first online congress in support of the fight against COVID-19
On April 21, the World Compliance Association (WCA) will hold, for the first time, a fully online congress which entire profit will go towards the fight against the COVID-19, through the World Health Organization (WHO) donation platform. The international congress will host speakers from more than 6 different countries, who will deal with the most relevant, critical and current issues regarding Compliance and its role in the global crisis of COVID-19. The experts will also present the latest developments in the field of Compliance.
With this initiative, the WCA aims to bring Compliance closer to all those interested, who will be able to easily access the event from their homes, as well as to contribute to COVID-19 research, while maintaining their commitment to ongoing training.
The congress, structured in seven thematic blocks, will count on the presence of Compliance officers from different sectors, Magistrates and professionals related to the world of Compliance. Patrick Moulette, director of the Anti-Corruption Division of the Organization for Economic Cooperation and Development (OECD), Joel Segura, former anti-corruption prosecutor of Peru, Carlos Balmisa, director of Internal Control of the National Commission of Markets and Competition (CNMC), Daniel Alonso, former Manhattan prosecutor, and Vicente Magro Servet, judge of the Spanish Supreme Court, are just some of the experts who will participate in the congress, as well as Compliance officers of large companies such as Repsol, Ikea and Porsche.
During the presentations, aspects of international reporting channels will be addressed, Compliance programmes will be evaluated from the judicial, fiscal and jurisprudential point of view. Likewise, focusing on the COVID-19 crisis, the impact on Competition and price control, as well as on Cybersecurity and the new risks that have arisen as a result of this situation will also be addressed. To conclude the event, the experts will assess the role of Compliance in this crisis context.
