Verónica Ollé new General Manager for Public Justice Service
The Spanish government has appointed Verónica Ollé Sesé as the new Director General for the Public Justice Service following the approval by the latest Council of Ministers. Ollé, a lawyer and judge with a distinguished 30-year career in both the public and private sectors, brings extensive experience in traditional legal management as well as crisis management and transformation processes.
Ollé’s expertise spans a wide array of legal fields, including labor law, corporate governance, intellectual property, public procurement, competition law, and artificial intelligence. Her career includes notable roles such as Undersecretary of the Ministry of Inclusion, Migration, and Social Security from July 2021 to December 2022. More recently, she served as Director of the President’s Office at RTVE, where she was responsible for key areas such as communications, audience engagement, and digital innovation strategy, including the integration of artificial intelligence within the corporation.
Ollé succeeds María dels Àngels García Vidal, who held the position since August 2021 and stepped down for personal reasons. García Vidal’s contributions were recognized by Minister Félix Bolaños, who expressed gratitude for her professionalism and dedication during her tenure.
Ollé holds a law degree from the University of Barcelona and has a diverse legal background. She practiced law at the prestigious firm Uría Menéndez, where she coordinated the labor department in Barcelona from 2000 to 2010. She co-founded Ollé Sesé Abogados alongside her brother, Manuel Ollé, an expert in international criminal law, where she practiced from 1995 to 2010.
In 2011, Ollé transitioned to the judiciary, serving as a magistrate at the Social Courts of Tarragona and Barcelona, and later at the Superior Court of Justice of Catalonia. Her judicial expertise was complemented by her involvement in the development of legal regulations, audits by the Spanish General Comptroller, and reviews by the Court of Auditors and the National Securities Market Commission (CNMV). She also maintained key relationships with the SEPI (State-Owned Industrial Participations).
From 2018 onwards, Ollé played a significant role at RTVE, first as Director of Legal Affairs, then as Secretary General and Secretary of RTVE’s Equality Observatory until mid-2021. She also represented RTVE in the Legal Committee of the European Broadcasting Union from 2019 to 2021.
