Uría Menéndez appoints five new partners and four counsels
Uría Menéndez announces the promotion of five new partners and four new counsels as of January 2026: Jorge Azagra Malo, Felipe Carbonell García and Olatz Ortega Espilla as partners in Spain; Tânia Luísa Faria and Gonçalo Reino Pires as partners in Portugal; and Joan Andreu Cortada, Mario Montes Santamaría, Miguel Moratinos López and Andrea Sandi Badiola as counsels in Spain.

Jorge Azagra Malo
An international litigation and arbitration lawyer in Barcelona, his practice focuses on advising on contentious proceedings, both before Spanish courts and national and international arbitration tribunals, as well as on insolvency and restructuring matters. He is also an associate professor of civil law at Pompeu Fabra University and ESADE.
Felipe Carbonell García
A solicitor in the Madrid office, he regularly advises on M&A transactions and on corporate law and corporate governance issues for listed and unlisted companies. He also has experience in advising on venture capital and start-up transactions and corporate restructurings. He is a professor of commercial law at the Universidad Pontificia Comillas (ICADE).
