Uría advises Santander Totta on €490M deal
Uría Menéndez in Portugal has advised Banco Santander Totta on the financing of the acquisition of Verescence, a French company specializing in the production of glass packaging for the luxury beauty and cosmetics sector, by a joint venture between Draycott and Movendo Capital. The transaction, with a total value of €490 million, stands out as one of the largest private equity deals involving Portuguese participation in 2025.
Uría Menéndez provided legal advice at all stages of the transaction, which was completed on May and involved a complex legal structure, including a bond issuance tranche and a revolving credit tranche.
The legal team was led by José António Reymão Nogueira (principal associate, Banking and Finance – pictured), with the participation of Marta Pontes (partner, Tax), Diogo Zambujo (senior associate, Banking and Finance), and Francisca Costa (junior associate, Banking and Finance).
