Uría Menéndez advises on solar portfolio acquisition
Uría Menéndez has advised Sustainable Development Capital LLP on the acquisition of a 68 MW behind-the-meter solar portfolio in the Iberian Peninsula, owned by the Portuguese company Capwatt. This is Sustainable Development Capital’s first investment in the Iberian market through its Global Energy Transition Fund. It aims to promote expansion in commercial and industrial renewable energy solutions across the region. The portfolio includes operational, under-construction and development-stage assets, demonstrating both immediate impact and significant growth potential.
The transaction was led by João Louro e Costa (counsel; energy and infrastructure) and involved Catarina Tavares Loureiro (partner, corporate and M&A), Jill de Soet Palmeiro (senior associate, energy and infrastructure), and Francisco Menezes (junior associate, energy and infrastructure) in Portugal, as well as Abel Baselga Castells (counsel, corporate and M&A) and Juan Delgado Giner (junior associate, corporate and M&A) in Spain.
