UK law firm AFP Bloom opens office in Mallorca
London-based family law firm AFP Bloom has opened its first office outside the United Kingdom, in Palma, Mallorca. The move brings the firm’s international work under a single new banner, AFP Bloom International, and gives families based on the island direct access to English family law advice rather than remote support from London.
AFP Bloom Palma will handle English divorces involving one or both spouses based on Mallorca, matters concerning international assets, businesses and trusts, pre- and post-nuptial agreements for international couples, and relocation to and from the island. Where Spanish law issues arise, AFP Bloom lawyers will work alongside local Spanish counsel and coordinate the overall legal advice for clients. The firm specialises in complex, high-value and international family matters, including divorce, financial settlements, children matters, and pre- and post-nuptial agreements.
The new office will offer confidential meetings in Palma for families and for professional advisers such as private bankers, relocation specialists and Spanish lawyers who work with clients who have a connection to English law.
Market context
Mallorca has long attracted international families, but the firm points to a shortage of English family law expertise based on the island itself.
