TTR: Cuatrecasas leads M&A ranking by number of transactions
TTR in collaboration with Intralinks has published its monthly report up to October 2022. Regarding the ranking of legal advisors in M&A, Cuatrecasas leads by number of transactions, with 126, while by amount the firm Freshfields Bruckhaus Deringer leads with €28.798m.
Also, in October 2022, TTR has highlighted the acquisition of 100% of the british company Go-Ahead, through a takeover bid, by the consortium formed by Globalvía Inversiones and Kinetic Group. The transaction, which has registered a value of approximately €779m, has been advised on the legal side by Herbert Smith Freehills and Linklaters.
On the other hand, the spanish transactional market has registered until october a total of 2,258 transactions with an aggregate amount of €93,150m. During the same month, 188 mergers and acquisitions were registered, both announced and closed, for an aggregate amount of approximately €2,903m.
Real Estate was the most active sector of the year, with a total of 517 transactions and an increase of 32% compared to the same period in 2021, followed by internet, software and IT services, with 268 and a decrease of 12%.
Regarding the cross-border market, until october 2022 spanish companies have chosen the United States as their main investment destination, with 43 transactions.
The United States and the United Kingdom, with 171 and 147 transactions respectively, are the countries with the highest number of investments in Spain.
On the other hand, a total of 284 private equity transactions for €37,791m were recorded up to october, which represents a 10% increase in the number of transactions and a 39% increase in the amount of the same, compared to the same period of the previous year.
In the venture capital segment, 506 transactions were completed for an aggregate amount of €4,835m, a 14% decrease in the number of transactions and a 23% decrease in the amount of transactions year-on-year.
In the asset acquisitions segment, 666 transactions worth €15,314m were recorded in the year to october, representing a 5% increase in the number of transactions and a 32% increase in the amount of transactions, year-on-year.
