SPS-Barrilero promotes 10 to partner roles
SPS-Barrilero has expanded its partnership structure with the promotion of ten lawyers to equity partner, industry partner, and contracted partner roles.
Five lawyers have been elevated to equity partner. Mónica Gonçalves Nunes, who joined SPS-Barrilero in 2002 and became a partner in 2012, works within the Credit Recovery, Litigation, and Insolvency department, with extensive experience advising companies and financial institutions on complex restructuring and asset recovery processes.
Joana Ribeiro Pereira, a partner since 2013, leads the Real Estate, Urban Planning, and Public Procurement departments, advising on large-scale real estate transactions for investors, developers, and domestic and international real estate investment funds.
Sara Henriques, also a partner since 2013, co-leads the M&A and Commercial department and oversees the TMT, Data Protection, and Technology practices, advising clients on corporate transactions, digital transformation, and data governance. She has been recognised by Iberian Lawyer as Lawyer of the Year in the Advertising and Privacy areas.
Nédia da Fonseca Nunes, with the firm since 1998 and a partner since 2001, is part of the Credit Recovery, Litigation, and Insolvency department, with a focus on strategic litigation and insolvency proceedings.
Pedro Miguel Cabral focuses on Banking and Finance and Litigation, advising clients on complex transactions and regulatory matters in the financial sector, and has been recognised by IFLR as a Notable Practitioner in Banking.
Industry and contracted partners
Three lawyers have been promoted to industry partner. Miguel Duarte Santos practises in Insurance, Regulatory, and Capital Markets, advising on regulatory matters and transactions in the insurance and financial sectors; he has been recognised by Iberian Lawyer with Forty Under 40 awards in Capital Markets and Insurance. Jorge Neta focuses on litigation and corporate advisory, with particular experience in conducting judicial proceedings and conflict prevention and resolution strategies. Bárbara Ribeiro Damas centres her practice on employment law and corporate advisory, with experience in business reorganisation processes and ongoing legal support to employers.
Two lawyers have been elevated to contracted partner. David Martins Cardoso works in insolvency and corporate restructuring, advising domestic and international clients on recovery and restructuring processes. Alexandra Abala-Matos Venâncio focuses on litigation, advising clients on judicial proceedings related to business activity.

With these promotions, SPS-Barrilero now counts 18 partners and a total of 93 lawyers.
