SPB and PradaGayoso advise on the debt restructuring arrangements of Grupo Alimentario Copese

Squire Patton Boggs and PradaGayoso have advised on the consensual restructuring plan and related debt rescheduling arrangements of Grupo Alimentario Copese and its affiliates.

Grupo Alimentario Copese is a leading food production company that develops and produces pork selection, breeding, feed, cutting, and manufacturing of sausages, meat and cured Iberian products. They offer their customers and clients quality products, with a focus on innovation and strict quality standards.

This mandate, along with other creditor representations in 2022 and 2023, highlights Squires standing as a ‘go to’ law firm for debt restructuring expertise in the sector both in Spain and globally under the new Spanish Insolvency Act.

Squire Patton Boggs has advised a syndicate of Spanish, international banks and financial institutions. The transaction involved a debt restructuring proceeding and the granting of new credit lines.  The team was led by Madrid office finance partner Manuel Mingot, legal director José Luis Iriarte and associate David Calleja.

PradaGayoso has advised Grupo Alimentario Copese and the legal-financial team was composed of Guillermo Prada and Félix Salgado (partners), Isabel Albano (senior associate) and Paula Oribe and Estela de la Viuda (junior associates).

Norgestion acted as financial advisor in the transaction and provided credit advisory.
