Soriano i Piqueras opens Rome office
Spanish law firm Soriano i Piqueras has opened a representative office in Rome, at Via Savoia 78, marking the firm’s first location outside Spain. The move formalises a relationship with Italy that the firm’s founder, Víctor M. Soriano i Piqueras, describes as “long-standing rather than new”.
Founded in 2023, Soriano i Piqueras operates as a boutique structure with offices in Madrid (Paseo de la Castellana, 40) and Valencia (Gran Vía Marqués del Turia, 59). The firm’s practice sits at the intersection of criminal and public law and it regularly appears before the Tribunal Supremo, the Audiencia Nacional and the Tribunal Constitucional.
Italian ties and new office remit
The firm’s Italian client base already includes an Italian professional footballer advised on urban planning and real estate matters in Ibiza, as well as Italian multinationals represented in proceedings in Spain, states the law firm. It also advises Italian investors active in the Spanish real estate market, from the Balearic Islands to Madrid and Valencia, in transactions where administrative and urban planning issues are significant.
Víctor M. Soriano i Piqueras studied at the Università degli Studi di Roma “Tor Vergata” and is a member of the Italian Chamber of Commerce and Industry for Spain. Alongside leading the firm, he serves as a parliamentary adviser to the Spanish Senate and is a professor of Administrative Law, currently on leave.
The new Rome office is intended to serve Italian companies, investors and individuals with interests in Spain across criminal and economic litigation, administrative law, urban planning and real estate investment, while also supporting the firm’s Spanish clients on matters in Italy in cooperation with local law firms.
“Rome is not a destination for us, it is a return”, said the founder and managing partner. “Italy is part of our professional and personal identity. Our Italian clients had been asking for a stable presence for some time, and we can now offer that from Rome.”
