In the context of Real Estate Talks and Drinks conference, FinancecommunityES announced the winners across different asset class categories. The ceremony held at the Covarrubias The One Madrid on the 20th of October 2026.

The winners are the following:

DEAL OF THE YEAR HÔTELLERIE – TRANSACTION

  • Colliers
  • Montero Aramburu & Gómez-Villares Atencia

This transaction is important because it concerns the acquisition of a strategic four-star hotel in the Canary Islands, one of Spain’s most relevant tourism hubs and a key driver of the Iberian economy. It also contributes to the consolidation and professionalisation of hotel ownership and management in the region, where sophisticated M&A structures are increasingly needed to address regulatory, operational and real estate complexities. The deal stood out for its high complexity and demanding timetable.

DEAL OF THE YEAR HÔTELLERIE – PROJECT FINANCE

  • EJASO

The deal is remarkable for combining sophisticated corporate structuring, project finance and real estate development in an emerging hospitality asset class. Its structural complexity required seamless coordination across multiple areas of expertise and several qualified investors.

DEAL OF THE YEAR RESIDENTIAL – TRANSACTION

  • ILIA ETL GLOBAL

This transaction stands out for covering the full life cycle of a luxury residential real estate project, from acquisition through development and construction to final delivery. It shows how a high-end residential investment can be managed with legal and tax aspects addressed at every stage, and it is a strong reference for complex, long-term developments in the luxury segment.

DEAL OF THE YEAR RETAIL

  • Savills

A landmark portfolio sale of nine Mercadona supermarkets, over 15,000 sqm across six Spanish regions, acquired by Sonae Sierra through the Hahn Sierra Food Retail Fonds. The deal reflects the growing role of dedicated funds in food retail, and it sets a benchmark for diversified, multi-region portfolio transactions in the Spanish market.

DEAL OF THE YEAR SHOPPING CENTRE

  • Santander

This deal is noteworthy because it concerns an €810 million refinancing of the shopping centre and retail park portfolio of Lar España Real Estate SOCIMI, a company owned by Hines European Real Estate Partners III and Grupo Lar. It is significant as a key milestone in the restructuring that followed the 2024 takeover bid, and it shows that large-scale financing remains available for Spanish retail real estate.

DEAL OF THE YEAR SENIOR HOUSING & CARE

  • CMS Portugal

Great news for the Portuguese senior housing sector: a sale and leaseback transaction valued at approximately €20 million, in which two funds managed by Atland Voisin acquired four senior living residences. The deal shows the growing interest of specialised investors in senior living and highlights sale and leaseback as an effective way to combine real estate investment with operational stability.
