RCD adds Carolina Revenga as insurance litigation partner

RCD has hired Carolina Revenga as a partner in its dispute resolution practice, joining from BDO Spain, where she was head of insurance & pharma litigation. The move aims at strengthening the position of the firm in insurance litigation, civil liability, and alternative dispute resolution, following the recent arrival of Javier Martínez.

Revenga brings over 20 years of experience in the management and defence of claims covering both property damage and civil liability. She has advised national and international insurers and companies on coverage disputes and insurance conflicts, and has particular expertise in product liability within the healthcare and pharmaceutical sectors, where her work has combined procedural strategy with regulatory analysis and crisis management.

Credentials and specialisation

Revenga is an accredited mediator with the Centre for Effective Dispute Resolution (CEDR) and the Spanish Ministry of Justice. She holds a Master’s degree in Negotiation from the London School of Economics and is a founder and member of the FIDE Mediation Centre, an institution in the Spanish legal ecosystem focused on alternative dispute resolution.

Her practice encompasses representation before courts across multiple jurisdictions, as well as out-of-court settlement mechanisms. With her addition, RCD’s insurance litigation team is positioned to advise on complex industrial risk claims, financial lines disputes — including directors’ and officers’ liability, professional liability, and cybersecurity — as well as property damage and general and product liability matters.

Leadership commentary

Adolf Rousaud, co-managing partner at RCD, noted that Revenga‘s appointment “brings a valuable combination of insurance litigation experience, sector-specific knowledge of the medical device and pharmaceutical industries, and strong mediation capabilities, complementing the existing partners in the practice area”..

Co-managing partner Ignasi Costas highlighted that insurance litigation demands very specific specialisation, and that Revenga’s arrival, alongside the recent appointment of Javier Martínez, reinforces RCD’s commitment to building a specialist team in this field against a backdrop of increasing litigation in areas such as D&O, cybersecurity, and product liability.
