Ramón y Cajal announces the promotion of one partner and two counsels
Ramón y Cajal Abogados has promoted Elena Tarragona as partner of the Barcelona office and Sofía Pérez Rodríguez and Santiago González-Enciso as counsels.
Also as part of their promotions Rocío Gaitán Jurado, Elena Hazas, Marta Santos García-Sintas and Francisco Javier Mingorance Maroto, have been appointed as new principal associates.
Elena Tarragona
The new partner of the financial and banking law and M&A area of the Barcelona office joined the firm in 2014. Previously, she spent seven years developing her professional activity in Caja Madrid (today, Caixabank) as head of the Business Banking and Corporate Banking Legal Department of the Business Department of Catalonia and Aragon. In addition, from 2005 to 2007, she worked in the banking department of Jiménez de Parga Abogados.
She has extensive professional experience in advising both companies and financial institutions in syndicated or bilateral structured finance transactions, refinancing of bank debt, restructuring processes and pre-bankruptcy situations, project finance (energy, real estate and infrastructure), national and international corporate finance transactions, acquisition finance, asset finance, public sector financing, capital markets and corporate in general.
Also, she advises financial institutions, investment services companies, regulated entities and management companies on various issues related to banking and securities markets regulation. She also has extensive experience in advising participatory financing platforms and financial intermediaries in general.
Sofía Pérez Rodríguez
Pérez is new counsel in the commercial area in the Barcelona office. She joined the firm in 2012, after seven years at Bufete Ribalta and nine years at Garrigues.
She has extensive experience in advising on M&A, having participated in the negotiation and formalization of sale and purchase agreements, mergers or integration of companies or entities of various kinds, contracts or protocols of partners or shareholders, joint venture or investment agreements, including both national and international clients, especially in the industrial sector and renewable energy. In addition, she also advises on a recurring basis on corporate and contract law and foundation law.
As part of his M&A experience, she has led due diligence teams of national and international entities and coordinated advice on acquisition financing agreements.
Santiago González-Enciso
Santiago González- Enciso joined the firm in January 2013, starting his professional career in the corporate/commercial area. Now, he has been appointed counsel of the civil litigation department,
He specializes in all types of civil and commercial legal proceedings, with special dedication to litigation and issues related to business leases, eviction proceedings and claims for payment, mainly concerning large shopping centers. He also has extensive experience in the defense of banking contracts of all kinds, as well as in foreclosure proceedings and bankruptcy proceedings.
He also has experience in advising on corporate law and corporate governance matters, having acted as secretary of the Board of Directors of all types of companies, participated in due diligence procedures and carried out a wide range of corporate transactions.
