Baker McKenzie reinforces its Madrid office with María Juliana Muci
Global law firm Baker McKenzie has announced the appointment of María Juliana Muci as Counsel in the International Trade practice at its Madrid office, effective January 22, 2025. Muci, an experienced legal professional, has held key positions at multinational companies such as FedEx and Spotify as well as prestigious international law firms like Three Crowns.
According to the firm, this strategic move comes in response to an increasingly complex global landscape, marked by geopolitical volatility and the rise of economic sanctions. This appointment follows another recent addition to the firm’s Spanish offices: José Antonio Pérez, who joined as a Real Estate Partner in Barcelona, strengthening Baker McKenzie’s real estate practice in the Catalan capital.
“María Juliana’s arrival responds to a clear demand from our clients: highly specialized legal advice in an increasingly complex global environment,” said Paul Amberg, Partner in Baker McKenzie’s Trade & Regulatory Compliance Practice in EMEA. “Her experience will strengthen a strategic area for the firm and allow us to continue our growth.”
Muci brings extensive expertise in international trade law, litigation, and arbitration, as well as risk management related to sanctions, export controls, and regulatory compliance. Born in Caracas, Venezuela, Muci holds a Law Degree and a Diploma in International Relations from Universidad Pontificia Comillas (ICADE). She further advanced her legal studies with a Master of Laws (LL.M.) and a Diploma in Arbitration & Dispute Resolution from Georgetown University Law Center.
