PRA advises CIM Cávado on new Braga-Porto transport line
PRA – Raposo, Sá Miranda & Associados advised the Intermunicipal Community of Cávado (CIM Cávado) in the integration of a new road transport line connecting Braga and Porto. The modification of the public service concession contract allowed for the addition of the new line, which offers 15 daily services and operates via the A3 motorway. Previously managed by the Porto Metropolitan Area (AMP) until November 2023, the line serves hundreds of passengers, including students, workers, and individuals requiring access to healthcare services.
PRA’s legal support covered all phases of the process, from drafting and amending contracts with municipal and intermunicipal entities to securing control of the line, to handling regulatory steps with the Mobility and Transport Authority (AMT) and obtaining prior approval from the Court of Auditors. The firm also assisted in arranging temporary transport services to ensure continuity while the integration process was finalized.
The legal team was led by Noel Gomes (pictured), partner and head of PRA’s administrative and public procurement department, along with senior associate Rui Duarte Rocha.
