PLMJ advises Eurobic on €1.2bn securitisation operation

PLMJ has counselled Portugal´s EuroBic on the sale of a portfolio of RMBS residential mortgages for €1.2 billion

PLMJ assisted Eurobic on the bank´s first securitisation operation of residential mortgage-backed securities (RMBS). Moody’s and S&P agencies rated the securitisation obligations, and Euronext Lisbon admitted them to trading.

PLMJ´s team was led by Capital Markets and Banking & Finance partner Gonçalo dos Reis Martins (pictured), and involved Kathleen Barley and Carolina Antunes.

According to Gonçalo dos Reis Martins: “It was a very demanding operation for the short time it was executed and particularly challenging because of the current pandemic and its implications resulting at the level of interaction with rating agencies.”
