Pinsent Masons advises Baywa r.e. on record breaking acquisition

Pinsent Masons has advised Baywa r.e. on the acquisition of one of the largest solar portfolios in Spain

Advised by the Energy team of Pinsent Masons Spain, BayWa r.e. has acquired a portfolio of ten photovoltaic projects in Spain, from Quercus Real Assets. With an installed capacity of more than 700 megawatts (MW) this portfolio is considered one of the largest PV portfolios in Spain.

The transaction involves the acquisition by BayWa r.e. of the projects, which will be delivered by Quercus ready for construction. BayWa r.e. has been present in Spain since 2010, where they already have 378 MW of installed renewable energy capacity, 200 MW to be commissioned during the first quarter of 2022 and a strong project pipeline of more than 1,500 MW to be delivered by 2025.
