Pérez-Llorca strengthens its energy team in Lisbon
Pérez-Llorca in Portugal has announced the appointment of Joana Alves de Abreu as energy counsel for the Lisbon office. Joana, who was over 15 years of experience in advising domestic and international companies on energy matters, transits from Morais Leitão.
Joana Alves de Abreu’s career has a particular focus on the regulation of the electricity sector, as well as supporting M&A and project finance transactions. Prior to joining Pérez-Llorca, Joana worked in some of the most reputable Portuguese law firms, was a lawyer within the legal department of the Portuguese Energy Services Regulatory Authority and served as an advisor to the Secretary of State for Energy in the 19th and 20th Constitutional Governments. She holds a master’s degree in Administrative Law – Energy from the Law Faculty of the Universidade Católica Portuguesa (Lisbon School) and attended the Evolution of Electricity Markets in Europe course at the Florence School of Regulation.
