Pérez-Llorca adds five partners in Lima and Lisbon
Pérez-Llorca has named five new partners in Lima and Lisbon, reinforcing the firm’s Ibero-American platform and its capacity to advise clients across Spanish, Portuguese, Mexican, Colombian and Peruvian law. The moves connect the firm’s coverage across Europe, Latin America, Asia and the Middle East.
Tax team expansion in Lima
In Peru, Pérez-Llorca has strengthened and diversified its tax practice with the arrival of Arturo Tuesta, Paola Saavedra and Ronald Vargas as partners, all three previously partners at a Big Four firm in the country. They join together with a team of 13 professionals, including lawyers and accounting and tax specialists. These are the first partner appointments in Peru since the integration of Miranda & Amado and Pérez-Llorca.
Arturo Tuesta, Tax Partner, brings 34 years of experience advising companies in Peru on M&A and wealth management matters, having previously led the tax practice at a Big Four firm in the country. Paola Saavedra, also a Tax Partner, focuses on wealth management clients and tax compliance and audit procedures for companies in the infrastructure and energy sectors. Ronald Vargas, Tax Partner, advises companies in the financial, real estate and agro-industrial sectors, with experience in international taxation and tax litigation and audit processes.
The three new partners join Pablo Sotomayor, Tax Partner, who has 25 years of professional experience, 21 of them at the firm, forming what the firm describes as one of the larger tax practices in Peru.
New partners for Lisbon office
In Portugal, Pérez-Llorca has appointed Luís Roquette Geraldes and Martim Teixeira as new partners in its Lisbon office. Roquette Geraldes will lead the firm’s new Emerging Companies and Venture Capital (ECVC) practice in Lisbon, consolidating the firm’s Iberian and Ibero-American offering in this area, while Teixeira strengthens the Tax practice, particularly in tax litigation.
Luís Roquette Geraldes, Emerging Companies and Venture Capital Partner, previously served as a Corporate and M&A partner and head of the startups and venture capital team at a Portuguese firm, where he also coordinated the private equity area. His practice focuses on technology and life sciences companies, and he has led financing rounds across more than 20 jurisdictions, advising both high-growth companies and international and local funds on cross-border transactions.
Martim Teixeira, Tax Partner, has 15 years of experience advising foreign investors and multinational groups on domestic and international investment operations, as well as the tax structuring of M&A, private equity and complex financial transactions. He also has experience in tax litigation, representing clients before the Portuguese Tax Authority and courts.
