Pbbr adds Joana Marques Alves to its tax practice
Portuguese law firm Pbbr has added Joana Marques Alves to its tax practice. She joins as senior associate. The lawyer moves from RFF, where she spent around seven years coordinating the Private Clients team, covering tax and immigration matters.
Before joining RFF, Joana Marques Alves began her career at Caiado Guerreiro, where she worked as a trainee and later as an associate between 2016 and 2019. She holds a law degree and a master’s in Law and Management from Universidade Católica Portuguesa (Lisbon School), along with a postgraduate specialisation in tax law from IDEFF at the University of Lisbon’s Faculty of Law. She is currently a guest lecturer on the course “Tax Aspects Related to International Mobility” at NOVA School of Law, run jointly with JurisNOVA.
Tânia Ferreira Osório, Partner at pbbr, said the addition of Marques Alves fits into a strategy of reinforcing an area that is essential for the firm, responding to clients’ needs as they face increasingly complex tax frameworks. She added that the firm is confident her integration will prove a valuable asset.
