Pavia e Ansaldo advises Renfe and Serena on their entry into the Italian market
Pavia e Ansaldo has advised Renfe, through its subsidiary, Renfe Proyectos Internacionales, and Serena Industrial Partners on their entry into the Italian market as railway operators, through the subscription of a 33% share each of the capital of Longitude Holding, a private Italian company operating under the Arenaways brand.
Longitude Holding is a private Italian company founded in Turin in 2021 by a group of investors with more than 30 years of experience in the sector that has the necessary authorizations to operate both regional and long-distance routes in Italy.
The operation represents the first step of the Spanish companies in Italy and will start with the reopening of a regional passenger service in Piedmont next January.
With this agreement in Italy, Renfe expands its operations to a new market and advances in its strategy of becoming a global company and exporting its experience as a public service operator and leader of the largest high-speed network in Europe. For Serena, this operation represents the first milestone in the Italian market, which it considers geographically strategic for the development of its operations and where it can find an important range of opportunities in mobility, environmental and social projects.
Longitude Holding has been advised by the law firm ADVANT Nctm, with a team composed of partner Carlo Grignani and associate Achille Capocasale.
The Pavia team was formed by partner Meritxell Roca Ortega and associate Silvia Galbusera.
