NK5 adds Financial Restructuring director from DLA Piper

NK5 has hired former DLA Piper of counsel Álvaro Cid-Luna as director and specialist in Financial Restructuring

NK5, an investment firm specialising in capital Restructuring and the Financing of companies in financial or operational difficulties, has announced the incorporation of Álvaro Cid-Luna as a director and specialist in the Financial Restructuring of companies, with a special focus on the legal aspect.

Cid-Luna (pictured) began his professional career as a lawyer at Deloitte, from where he joined Roca Junyent. During the last ten years, he has been part of DLA Piper where, as of counsel in the Restructuring & Special Situations area, he has participated in Acquisition, Restructuring, Refinancing and Insolvency of companies, both nationally and internationally.

He has extensive experience advising international clients such as Goldman Sachs, Apollo, KKR, King Street, Strategic Value Partners, Credit Suisse International or Deutsche Bank, among others, on cross-border Restructuring processes and different pre-Insolvency mechanisms, as well as on the purchase and sale of production units and the liquidation of companies.

He is also experienced in Distressed Asset and Debt Transactions. Since 2016, and for three consecutive years, he has been recognised by international legal rankings, and he was a finalist in the 2019 edition of the Iberian Lawyer Forty under 40 Awards as best individual lawyer in Insolvency & Restructuring.

He holds a degree in Law and Political Science from the Universidad Autónoma de Madrid, a postgraduate degree in Business Law from the Universitat Oberta de Catalunya and several specialisation programmes in Restructuring, Banking and Finance.
