Abreu appoints new leadership in the B&F area
The two lawyers, Rodrigo Formigal and Diogo Pereira Duarte, join partner José Maria Corrêa de Sampaio, to coordinate the Banking and Finance practice area at Abreu Advogados
Abreu has appointed Rodrigo Formigal (pictured left) and Diogo Pereira Duarte (pictured right) as coordinators of the firm’s Banking and Finance practice, joining José Maria Corrêa de Sampaio (pictured centre) in the growth and specialisation of this team.
Rodrigo Formigal, partner at Abreu Advogados, has provided strategic advice to banks and other financial institutions and participated in the structuring and assembly of some of the most relevant credit operations in recent years. He also has recognised experience in Real Estate Finance transactions, transmission of credit portfolios and in setting up structured finance transactions. Throughout his career, he has accumulated distinctions from the most important international directories.

Diogo Pereira Duarte, professional partner at Abreu Advogados and professor at the Faculty of Law of the University of Lisbon, has developed his activity with a focus on monitoring regulatory aspects of licensing, internal governance and resolution of financial institutions as well as in the area of financial intermediation and Capital Markets. He also has extensive experience in the areas of FinTech and crypto-assets, data protection and ESG (environmental, social and governance) in financial services.
