Morais Leitão adopts new tech-based business model
Morais Leitão has announced a strategic shift in its business model, evolving into a multidisciplinary firm with a focus on technology-based solutions. The firm is introducing ML Tech and Knowledge, a new offering that complements its legal services with expertise in technology consulting, management consulting, and artificial intelligence development.
The new model – states the firm – is characterised by the articulation of four key factors: client focus, legal knowledge, innovation and digital transformation, and a one-stop shop with differentiated values. “This evolution responds to market challenges and client needs, strengthening the firm’s competitive position”, says Morais Leitão.
For Martim Krupenski, managing partner of Morais Leitão, “this change represents an evolution in the very culture of providing legal services: the expertise and legal knowledge of excellence are now enriched with layers of technology and artificial intelligence. We want to take client service to a new level. Multidisciplinary collaboration is not just a response to the market, but a strategic opportunity to combine the best legal skills with the industry’s most advanced innovations in technology and data analytics.”
Carlos Eduardo Coelho, head of innovation and knowledge and now also industry partner, will be responsible for leading the consulting and technological development services. Carlos, who has been with Morais Leitão since 2014, has a solid track record in management and innovation processes in law firms and is a key figure in this transformation. “”We have been focused on technological development as a strategic pillar to improve the efficiency and quality of the services we provide to our clients. One of my priorities has been internal and operational organisation, with a focus on automated processes. The future of the legal profession undoubtedly lies in this integrated approach”, states Coelho.
