MLGTS acts for Eberspaecher on Portuguese manufacturing scheme

MLGTS advised German vehicle parts company Eberspaecher on an agreement to construct a manufacturing and logistics site in the Portuguese municipality of Tondela.

The 11.5-hectare development will take place in Tondela’s Zona Industrial do Lagedo.

Eberspaecher will use the site to supply exhaust components to European car makers in Spain, Portugal and northern Morocco.

The development will create around 120 local jobs by the end of 2017, and it is anticipated that there will be jobs for 500 workers – and an annual production capacity of 2.5 million exhaust components – by 2020.

Eberspaecher was advised by MLGTS lawyer Philipp Melcher, from the firm’s German desk, as well as partner Filipa Arantes Pedroso, associate Andreia Bento Simões, senior associate Rui Ribeiro Lima, partner Carlos Botelho Moniz, partner Pedro Pardal Goulão, managing associate Joana Almeida, partner Margarida Olazabal Cabral, and associate José Azevedo Moreira.

Eberspaecher was also advised by Gleiss Lutz on the agreement.
