Morais Leitão Legal Circle has advised Millennium BIM on sale to Fidelidade of a controlling shareholding in SIM

Morais Leitão Legal Circle has advised Millennium BIM, one of the largest Mozambican banking institutions, on the negotiation of a partnership in the insurance sector in Mozambique. This involved the conclusion of a long-term distribution agreement in the bancassurance channel. It also included the sale to Fidelidade – Companhia de Seguros, S.A, a leading Portuguese insurance company in the life and non-life segments and a company with a strong international presence, of a controlling shareholding in SIM – Seguradora Internacional de Moçambique, S.A., which operates in Mozambique under the brand name “Ímpar”.

Morais Leitão’s team was led by partner Eduardo Paulino (pictured left), from the Corporate, Commercial and M&A department, and senior associate Margarida Torres Gama (pictured right), co-coordinator of the Insurance, Reinsurance and Pension Funds team. It also inclulded Marta Pereira Rosa and Nuno Sobreira, from the Corporate, Commercial and M&A department and the Insurance, Reinsurance and Pension Funds team, and Pedro Gouveia e Melo, from the European and Competition department.
