ML advises on purchase of Atrium Saldanha

Morais Leitão has advised Bankinter Investment and Sonae Sierra on the acquisition of the Atrium Saldanha building in Lisbon.

The transaction, which is still subject to a non-opposition decision by the Portuguese Competition Authority, involves the purchase, by a new Sociedade de Investimento e Gestão Imobiliária (SIGI) constituted for that purpose, of 100% of the shares of Imobiliária do Saldanha, S.A. The new SIGI, named Atrium BIRE, will have as shareholders, besides Bankinter and Sonae Sierra, a group of investors from Bankinter Patrimonial Banking and the seller, Fibeira Group, which will hold a 20% participation in the new company.

Morais Leitão’s multidisciplinary team involved in this transaction was led by partner Vítor Pereira das Neves, who is part of the Commercial, M&A and Capital Markets team. Other members of the team included Marisa Larguinho (senior lawyer), Carolina Barrueca (senior associate) and Mariana Pintor (associate), as well as members of other Morais Leitão departments, including the Corporate, Real Estate and Tourism department (coordinated by João Torroaes Valente), Tax department (coordinated by António Pedro Braga) and European Law and Competition department (coordinated by Joaquim Vieira Peres).
