López-Hermoso advises on Opticalia’s international expansion

López-Hermoso Abogados, a boutique law firm with expertise in international corporate law, has advised Opticalia, an optical chain in the Spanish market, in its international expansion in the Brazilian and Chilean markets

Brazil

In Brazil, Opticalia has adopted a business model based on a contractual joint venture that allows for market penetration. This hybrid approach combines elements of different contractual figures to adapt to the specificities of this market. In less than three months, this model has enabled the opening of 22 stores in Brazil, confirming the rapid growth and potential of this market.

The strategic plan, in the formulation of which López-Hermoso Abogados has played a key role alongside Opticalia’s internal departments, projects an expansion of up to 600 optical stores over a five-year period.

Chile

In Chile, Opticalia has launched another joint venture model, meticulously adapted to the specificities of the Chilean market. This model focuses on opening new stores, significantly expanding Opticalia’s presence in South America, along with Colombia and Mexico. Opticalia is also present in Portugal and Morocco.

The transaction has been led by Ignacio López-Hermoso, partner of the commercial-litigation area, with the key support of Mercedes Lázaro, Alicia Castillo, Almudena Báscones and Patricia Sánchez.
