Linklaters has reinforced its Lisbon team with the hiring of María de Athayde Tavares and Carlota Freire

Linklaters has reinforced its Lisbon team with the hiring of María de Athayde Tavares, who will be responsible for Public Law and Regulatory, and Carlota Freire, who joins the Dispute Resolution and Arbitration team as an associate lawyer.

María (pictured left) is a managing associate in the Finance and Energy & Infrastructure department in Lisbon and leads the Public & Administrative Law and Regulatory practice. She has extensive experience in advising domestic and international corporate clients, banks and financial institutions in all Regulatory, Environmental and Public law issues relevant to M&A and Financing transactions and projects, in highly regulated sectors, with a special focus on the energy, infrastructure and telecommunications sectors.

Carlota (pictured right) is an Associate in the firm’s Dispute Resolution department in Lisbon. She has been developing her practice in the areas of litigation and arbitration, with special emphasis on Corporate Litigation and Banking & Financial Litigation, as well as Corporate Restructuring matters, both within and outside the insolvency scenario.

She is involved in all phases of contentious work, including pre-litigation negotiations, as well as in preventive work, such as Due Diligence exercises. Furthermore, Carlota has experience in Corporate Law and M&A matters.
