Linking with Barona

Juan Barona, the highly recognised banking and restructuring lawyer, is joining Linklaters as a Partner in its Spanish banking practice.

Barona, a former Partner at Allen & Overy in Madrid for seven years, has been an adviser in some of the banking sector’s most significant transactions.
This high profile Madrid hire comes despite the backdrop of the firm’s global partnership restructuring last year. Allen & Overy´s Madrid office now has nine partners and the move brings Linklaters’ to 13.
“Our banking practice, and the Madrid office as a whole, has enjoyed significant success over the last few years,” says Sebastián Albella, Linklaters Senior Partner for Spain. “The addition of Juan to our team is the result of this success.”
Indeed, clients from 176 of Spain’s biggest companies recently chose Barona as the recent winner of Iberian Lawyer’s Gold Award for Individual Lawyer Excellence 2012 for providing a service of distinction.
