Legora raises $550M Series E led by Atreides

Legal AI company Legora has raised $550 million in a Series E funding round that values it at $8.8bn post-money. The round was led by Atreides Management. The proceeds will fund expansion in the US and other international markets, Spain included, and further development of the company’s agentic operating system, Legora aOS.

Atreides Management led the round, which also included new investors Baron Capital, Capital Group, Fidelity Management & Research Company, Glade Brook Capital Partners and J.P. Morgan. All of the main existing investors took part: Accel, Benchmark, Bessemer Venture Partners, General Catalyst, ICONIQ, Insight Venture Partners, Redpoint Ventures, Salesforce Ventures and Sands Capital.

The new valuation compares with $5.6 billion in the company’s previous round. Legora built the round around long-term investors, combining existing shareholders with strategic backers, including institutions that work daily with law firms and in-house legal departments.

Growth and use of proceeds

Legora grew from US$1 million to US$100 million in annual recurring revenue (ARR) in under 18 months, and reached the next US$100 million in less than six months. ARR now exceeds US$200 million. According to the company, corporate legal departments made up only a small share of its client base a year ago but accounted for more than 40% of new customers in the third quarter.

Legora opened its first US office in spring 2025, and the US is now its main market by revenue. More than half of the AmLaw 50 firms are clients. The funds will support continued expansion across the Americas, where the company has offices in New York, Denver, Chicago, Houston, San Francisco, Toronto and Mexico City, as well as in Europe and Asia-Pacific. They will also go into Legora aOS, the platform in which lawyers and AI agents work together, with new products including agentic case management, forward-looking analysis and legal research. The company’s CEO and co-founder is Max Junestrand.
