L&W adds Finance counsel from A&O

Latham & Watkins has hired Luis Sánchez Méndez as Finance counsel, joining from Allen & Overy

Latham & Watkins has announced the incorporation of Luis Sánchez Méndez to the firm’s Madrid office as counsel in the Finance department. Sánchez Méndez’s practice focuses on advising creditors and debtors on a variety of complex domestic and international Financing and Restructuring matters.

He has significant experience advising on leveraged buyouts, margin loans and Corporate Finance, Real Estate finance, direct lending and acquisition financing matters. He also regularly advises on complex Restructuring matters, and counsels distressed debt funds on the analysis and acquisition of non-performing loans (NPLs).

Luis Sánchez Méndez (pictured) joins the firm from Allen & Overy, where he was a Finance senior associate. He graduated in Law from the Universidad Complutense de Madrid, and also received a degree in International Business at the European Business School of Madrid.
