KWM acts for EDP Renováveis on €800m wind portfolio sale

King & Wood Mallesons (KWM) advised EDP Renováveis (EDPR) on the €800 million sale of an onshore European wind portfolio located in Spain, Portugal, France and Belgium.

The deal involved the transfer to institutional investors – who were advised by J.P Morgan Asset Management – of EDPR´s full equity shareholding in the portfolio as well as outstanding shareholder loans .

The portfolio, which will continue to be operated by EDPR, has a total enterprise value of €1.6 billion euros and is distributed across the four jurisdictions as follows: 348 megawatts (MW) in operation in Spain; 388 MW in operation in France; 191 MW in operation in Portugal; and 71 MW in operation in Belgium.

The KWM team was led by corporate and partner Roberto Pomares (pictured). It also included Madrid-based Teresa García (associate), Enrique Murillo (associate), Alberto Ruano (partner), Covadonga Peréz (associate), and Gonzalo Olivera (partner).
