King & Wood Mallesons advises Ysios Capital on €126m fund structuring
King & Wood Mallesons (KWM) acted for Ysios Capital on the structuring and close of its second fund, Ysios BioFund II Innvierte.
The fund received capital commitments of €126.4 million, exceeding its initial target of €100 million.
The fund will invest in biotech start-ups and “development phase” companies.
Ysios BioFund II Innvierte’s institutional investors include: CDTI (the Spanish Ministry of Economy) through its Innvierte program; the European Investment Fund (EIF); and the European Commission through InnovFin SME Venture Capital, a financial instrument developed under the EU Framework Programme for Research and Innovation. Other investors include pension funds, such as Orza and Lagun Aro, as well as private investors and family offices.
Following the creation of Ysios BioFund II Innvierte, Ysios Capital manages nearly €200 million across two funds.
