Jorge Pecourt represents FC Barcelona players in war over salary cuts
Former Cuatrecasas partner Jorge Pecourt is representing FC Barcelona players along with Tactic Group in a pay cut dispute
According to professional sports media 2Playbook, Jorge Pecourt (pictured) the ex-Cuatrecasas who directly managed the ‘Messi case’, and left the firm to set up his own law firm to continue the work of advising professional sportsmen and women, is now representing the club´s staff in a negotiation process over wage reductions with the club’s Board.
The club’s staff, with Josep Maria Bartomeu and his Board want a salary cut for all employees, including the first team and Barça B players. The reduction would be around 30 per cent of their wages, after the economic losses suffered by the club, hit hard by the COVID-19 crisis.
Messi´s case lawyer, along with Tactic Group, headed by Josep Maria Orobitg, one of the pioneering agents in the national and international mediation, are advising the staff, who agree to lower their salaries, but not the use of a negotiating committee that mixes sports and corporate staff.
