Javier Fernández-Samaniego returns to Samaniego Law

As Iberian Lawyer has learned, Javier Fernández-Samaniego (pictured) has left Osborne Clarke USA and returned to Samaniego Law, the Ibero-American disputes and technology boutique he launched in 2017.

Contacted by Iberian Lawyer, Osborne Clarke confirmed the news and commented: “Javier Fernandez-Samaniego recently left Osborne Clarke to work as an independent arbitrator from his own platform. We thank him for his contributions and wish him all the best on this next chapter. We no longer have a physical presence in Miami but remain committed to the US market, where we’ve operated for more than 25 years. Our team is well-established in New York and Silicon Valley and continues to serve the needs of our clients”.

Fernández-Samaniego joined Osborne Clarke USA in September 2023 (here the news) to lead the firm’s Miami office, in a move that marked the launch of the firm’s third US base and formed part of its wider US and international arbitration strategy. He left the firm in March 2026.

Fernández-Samaniego has long been recognized in the Spanish market for a practice spanning dispute resolution, arbitration and technology law, with a particular focus on international commercial complex conflicts, technology and cybersecurity and privacy matters, and cross-border mandates involving Spain, the US and Latin America. His return marks a move back to the platform he founded, which continues to position itself as an alternative legal business focused on disputes and technology matters across the Ibero-American market.
