BMA adds three lawyers to IP and privacy teams
BMA has integrated three new associates across strategic practice areas, focusing on intellectual property and data protection.
Rita Milhões joins the intellectual property department, bringing over 15 years of experience in advising on trademarks, designs, and copyright, as well as related litigation. Throughout her career, she worked as a lawyer and industrial property consultant at Simões, Garcia, Corte-Real & Associados between 2008 and 2020, and at J.E. Dias Costa between 2022 and 2026. She also held general counsel positions in international groups. Milhões is an official industrial property agent and a representative before the EUIPO.
Rita Ferreira joins the privacy department with a specialized profile in data protection and technology. She holds a law degree from the University of Coimbra and a masters in business and corporate law from the Catholic University of Porto, as well as several postgraduate qualifications in data protection, intellectual property, and law and technology. She has developed her practice with a strong focus on GDPR matters during her time at PRA, including audits and implementation projects in both public and private entities. Ferreira has also acted as data protection officer, notably in the healthcare sector and in local administration. In addition, she has experience in cybersecurity, working with recent regulatory frameworks such as NIS2 and DORA, and is currently chapter chair of the OneTrust community in Lisbon.
Beatriz Domingues Pereira begins her career at BMA as a trainee lawyer, having completed her law degree at NOVA School of Law and a masters in litigation and arbitration.
