Iberian Lawyer “On the Move” shows a Legal market where women keep gaining weight. This is the case of law firm VdA and its new managing partner, Paula Gomes Freire. On the other hand, the section “On the Web” points out renewable energies increasing power.

The Spanish version cover is dedicated to Jacobo Martínez, Eversheds Sutherland’s managing partner, head of the Labour area and member of the Executive Committee of Eversheds Sutherland Spain. In the interview, he talks about the law firm’s strategic plan for the next five years, among other things. The English cover features Mafalda Barreto, GA_P’s Portugal managing partner since 2018, on the occasion of the law firm’s 50th anniversary in Spain and first decade in Portugal. Iberian Lawyer toasts to this event.

As our September in-house representatives, we bring you the figure of Nuno Menezes, Legal director of Teleperformance Portugal, an emblematic company in Portugal, and Bárbara Sanjuán Pardo, Legal director of Bitbase, a Spanish company that buys and sells bitcoins, among other services. Also, in the Private Equity section, we try to decipher the pros and cons of the investment market in cryptocurrencies with Miguel Sánchez Monjo, a partner at Cuatrecasas.

From IBL’s sister magazine MAG, this issue offers an interview with Marcello Dolores, Group Vice President of Legal and Regulatory Affairs for Southern Europe at Discovery Networks International, conducted by Ilaria Iaquinta. Also at the international level, from the group’s chief editor, Nicola Di Molfetta, we offer an interview with Bertrand Schapiro, director of Ardian Growth, who talks about the agreement with Logalty and, among others, assures us that Spain can be a key market in Europe in terms of Legaltech.

In Partners Abroad, we return to Mexico to learn more about Alberto García Linera, a Linklaters lawyer who is set to lead the firm’s new group in the country.
