Iberian Lawyer adds gender parity to Awards criteria
Iberian Lawyer has unveiled a major change to its awards programme, set to debut at the upcoming Labour Awards on 20 February in Madrid and extend to all future awards. As the first to promote excellence and exercise leadership in this sector, Iberian Lawyer is once again at the forefront—introducing a structured gender parity framework that awards extra points to teams prioritising female representation. Those with at least 30% women receive one bonus point, while teams at or above 50% female composition earn two.
This change marks a decisive step towards promoting greater gender equality within a traditionally male-dominated profession. By directly incentivising firms to cultivate balanced teams, Iberian Lawyer aims to inspire a cultural transformation in legal practice, encouraging more women to ascend to leadership roles and reinforcing the value of diverse perspectives in strategic decision-making.
The move reflects an overarching commitment to fostering inclusivity and broadening professional opportunities for women in the legal field. It also highlights the growing recognition that diversity is not merely a box to be ticked, but a vital element that strengthens client service and drives innovation across the sector. With these enhanced guidelines, Iberian Lawyer seeks to champion a fairer, forward-thinking environment—one in which legal excellence thrives alongside equal representation.
