HR Evolution Event Reveals Impact of AI on Spanish Companies
The HR Evolution event, organized by iKN Spain, brought together prominent international experts to discuss the present and future of human resources in Spain, and how the integration of AI into the workplace will impact both employees and companies.
One significant conclusion drawn from this gathering is that a considerable number of Spanish companies have already implemented Artificial Intelligence tools in their human resources operations. Specifically, 46% of them utilize this technology for data measurement and analysis, 38% for task optimization, and 36% for process automation.
Despite this trend, Eva Astorga, Manager Hub of Methodologies at Mahou San Miguel, emphasized the importance of maintaining human essence and effectively combining it with new tools. She stressed that humanistic disciplines are essential for advancing society and businesses.
During one of the event’s panels, Cristina Peláez, HR Director at Lener, highlighted the concerning statistic that 68% of companies applying technology do not provide training for their employees. This lack of training negatively impacts productivity and the quality of results.
Several event experts underscored the crucial role of HR departments in assisting workers in utilizing these tools effectively in their daily routines. To achieve this, companies must foster a culture that encourages positive contributions from technology within their industry.
Furthermore, due to the rapid evolution of these solutions, organizations must provide training to their employees every 6 to 12 months. “Often, company personnel are not trained in new things, and this is essential because there will always be novelties in all markets,” asserted David Claramunt, Workforce Planning and Personnel Knowledge at Sabadell.
Another topic addressed during the event was identifying the most critical skills that future workers will need. In a context of continuous evolution and new technologies, abilities such as adaptability, curiosity, communication, initiative, teamwork, information analysis, and critical thinking will set workers apart in any selection process.
Experts also emphasized the importance of soft skills, such as adaptability and communication, for the workers of the future. Furthermore, the need to promote a work culture that fosters the physical and mental well-being of employees, as well as ongoing training in new technologies, was underscored.
