With extensive Regulatory, Litigation and Corporate experience in administration and the private sector, Calancha’s incorporation comes at a key moment in the regulated sectors as a result of the energy transition, the activity that will be generated with European funds, the relevance of ESG criteria and principles in the activity and strategy of the industry, among other things, said a spokesperson from the firm.

The lawyer, who has 22 years of professional experience, said: “Joining a team of lawyers of the quality and prestige that Hogan Lovells has in Spain represents a great opportunity for me to support its clients, both in Spain and internationally”.

José Luis Vázquez (pictured left), managing partner of Hogan Lovells in the Madrid office, added: “Fernando’s appointment reflects our firm commitment to maintain and strengthen Hogan Lovells’ leadership in regulated sectors. Fernando is an undisputed reference in the sector and we are very pleased with his incorporation”.

With the addition of Calancha, Hogan Lovells Madrid will now have 22 partners, a senior counsel and more than 100 lawyers. Fernando will work closely with the Corporate, Litigation and Banking practices, which have, respectively, specialists in the Energy sector.
