Harvey raises US$550M to accelerate AI expansion
Harvey announced a $550 million funding round at a $15.5 billion valuation, co-led by Diffusion and Lightspeed Venture Partners. The capital raise follows the launch of Harvey’s first open-weight model, trained post-training, and the launch of Harvey LAB, its Legal Agent Benchmark. The investment will accelerate Harvey’s efforts to help law firms, in-house legal teams and professional services firms build and manage their own intelligence at scale.
Investors participating in the round included Sequoia, Kleiner Perkins, a16z, Coatue, Conviction, Elad Gil, Evantic, GIC, Goldman Sachs Alternatives, Verified Capital and WNDR. New investors include Diffusion, Lightspeed, Sapphire Ventures and Whale Rock.
Commenting on the funding round, Harvey co-founders Winston Weinberg and Gabe Pereyra said: “The opportunity for companies to accelerate their competitive advantage through AI has never been greater. Harvey aims to be the global partner legal teams turn to for this work, and we plan to hire and develop the best team in the industry to support our clients in the next wave of AI-driven transformation.”
Guardrails AI acquisition
Harvey also announced the acquisition of Guardrails AI, a San Francisco-based AI-powered security platform for agents. Guardrails is a pioneer in AI simulation and reliability infrastructure. It has developed the first open-source AI guardrails to help teams detect when their agents deviate from intended behaviour and manage agent risk in real time. This is Harvey’s fourth acquisition in 2026.
Harvey is the operating system for legal and professional services. Its products streamline workflows across areas including contract analysis, due diligence, compliance and litigation to drive efficiency and deliver value.
