Grant Thornton appoints Álvaro González Larramendi
Grant Thornton has appointed Álvaro González Larramendi as a new audit partner in Bilbao, strengthening its presence in northern Spain and its focus on middle-market and large corporate clients.
His appointment forms part of the firm’s growth strategy for its Audit & Assurance practice, led by Isabel Perea in Spain. In the northern region, González Larramendi will work alongside partners Juan Carlos Miján and Jorge Martínez Apesteguía to further develop the firm’s audit offering and client base.
The profile
González Larramendi brings nearly 20 years of audit experience. Prior to joining Grant Thornton, he worked at EY, where he served as director of the San Sebastián office and led Audit & Assurance activities for the financial sector in northern Spain. He previously spent more than 17 years at Deloitte, where he progressed to the position of Senior Manager.
Throughout his career, González Larramendi has advised and audited financial institutions, securities firms, collective investment institutions, private equity firms and companies in the industrial and services sectors. His experience also includes internal control, sustainability and regulatory compliance projects.
