Gastón Durand, from Forvis Mazars, named Marcalliance chair
Marcalliance, the international alliance of independent law firms, has appointed Gastón Durand, partner and member of the Management Committee at Forvis Mazars in Spain, as its president for the next two years. The organisation’s Board of Directors approved the appointment at its latest meeting in Brussels.
The board described the appointment as the start of a new phase for Marcalliance, which continues to strengthen its international presence and its support for clients and member law firms in an increasingly complex legal environment. Hedwige Caldairou will become the alliance’s new vice-president.
Marcalliance expects Durand’s leadership “to foster collaboration among the network’s members, strengthen international relations between law firms and create new opportunities for partner firms and clients”.
Comments from the new president
Durand thanked the board for its backing. “I would like to thank the entire board for the trust they have placed in me to lead Marcalliance through this new phase. I would also like to congratulate Hedwige Caldairou on her election as vice-president,” he said.
In Spain, the Forvis Mazars firms provide audit and assurance, tax, legal and financial advisory, consultancy, outsourcing and sustainability services. They have more than 900 professionals across eight offices.
