Freshfields promotes two counsel

Freshfields has strengthened its Global Transactions team in Spain with the promotion of two of its senior associates, Cristina Esteve and Ana J. García, to counsel, effective May 1

Cristina Esteve (pictured left) has extensive experience advising on Banking and Financial transactions, as well as on Restructuring. She specializes in all types of financing transactions, both domestic and international, including leveraged acquisition financing, Real Estate financing, Project and Corporate Finance. She has extensive experience advising banks, alternative capital providers, sovereign wealth funds, Private Equity funds and corporations in a wide range of sectors and transactions within the financial spectrum. She holds a degree in Law specialising in Economics from the Universidad de Deusto (Bilbao) and a Master’s degree in Business Law from the Instituto de Empresa (Madrid).

Ana Julia García (pictured right) advises on many aspects of Commercial and Real Estate transactions. In particular, Ana has extensive experience in complex Real Estate investment and divestment transactions, development projects and Real Estate financing. She also advises on Joint Ventures, management contracts, commercial leases, sale and leaseback transactions and construction contracts. Her clients include major investors and financial institutions, Real Estate companies, SOCIMIS, investment banks and other key players in the Real Estate market. She has a degree in Law and Business Administration from the Universidad Pontificia Comillas (ICADE – E3).

The appointments are effective May 1, along with 30 other lawyers in various legal disciplines from Freshfields around the world, including 18 in the Global Transactions team.
