Freshfields hires Pablo González Mosqueira for PE in Spain

Freshfields has brought in Pablo González Mosqueira as a partner in Madrid to head the firm’s private equity practice in Spain. The hire strengthens the firm’s M&A and Capital group, which is focused on expanding its footprint in the European private equity market.

The appointment comes after the exit of Armando Albarrán to Gibson Dunn. He joins from Pérez Llorca.

Bosco Montejo, managing partner of the Madrid office, noted that González Mosqueira’s strategic approach to private equity transactions and his collaborative vision for business development make him a strong addition to the Madrid team.

David Franco, head of M&A and Capital in Madrid, said that the appointment accelerates the firm’s continued growth in the European private equity market, and that González Mosqueira‘s track record and deep knowledge of the Spanish market will be of significant value to the global team as it continues to support clients in their most complex transactions.

The profile

Pablo González Mosqueira cames as partner in the Corporate/M&A and Private Equity practice at Pérez-Llorca and is widely regarded as one of Spain’s leading transactional lawyers. With more than two decades of experience, he advises private equity funds, multinational corporations, listed companies, and financial institutions on some of the most significant corporate transactions in the Spanish market.

He joined Pérez-Llorca in 2006 after beginning his career at another prominent Spanish law firm and was promoted to partner in 2014. His practice focuses on mergers and acquisitions, private equity, capital markets transactions, corporate restructurings, takeover bids, joint ventures, and corporate governance matters. Over the years, he has advised clients on numerous high-profile domestic and cross-border deals across a range of industries.

González Mosqueira holds a Law Degree and a Diploma in Business Administration from Universidad Pontificia Comillas, as well as an LL.M. in Business Law from IE Law School. In addition to his legal practice, he has maintained a strong academic profile, teaching corporate and business law at IE and contributing to postgraduate programmes at Universidad Carlos III de Madrid.
